Ep. 19: Living With an Undefended Heart with The Holistic Counseling Center Founder Kim Burris

Welcome Kim Burris!

In this episode, I am speaking with my friend, Kim Burris, a licensed psychotherapist, author of The First 90 Days After Birth, and founder of The Holistic Counseling Center, who offers evidence-based treatment with a heart-centered approach that honors the mind, body, and spirit connection.

Kin shares her desire to work in the field of transpersonal psychology at the age of 21 and how her own healing drove her to become a therapist. Then, Kim dives into why she wants to live life with an “undefended heart” and how the evolution of her practice supports the investment in community. Plus, Kim details how interconnected relationships keep our nervous system regulated—and why she weaves Human Design, the Enneagram, the Yoga Sutras, and her perspective on polyvagal theory into her practice as a blueprint for understanding ourselves.
